Why does our club need to do fundraising?
UIL our club has to pay for everything, much like a select soccer, hockey, or
volleyball team. Where we differ from a select team is that we’re a school club,
and as a school club we get access to some of the PISD fields for a fee and are
allowed to get information regarding our club out through the school like other
clubs, such as the chess club.
The Plano West Lacrosse Club is a non-profit organization, or 501(c)3. Our
registration fee was carefully constructed to provide the basic needs of the
club. Again, we get no financial support from PISD, so your registration fee pays
for fields, lights, officials, tournament fees, coaches, supplies, insurance,
website, etc.
The club conducts fundraisers to help offset any unforeseen overages in the
budget in order to maintain registration fees as well as to provide certain items
to the coaches above and beyond what has been budgeted. The coaches have
put a wish list together of items that this year’s fundraising dollars will go towards.
1. Send 4 or more coaches to US Lacrosse Convention in Baltimore
2. Coaching Resources for developing new coaches (videos, books, clinics)
3. Fund to pay for specialty coaches available to all teams (goalies, face-off,
etc.)
4. Rent for a Storage unit for all the clubs equipment so it frees up the coaches
garage
5. Permanent marketing fund (continually upgrade website, newsletters, gimmie
shirts etc.)
6. Ear-mark funds to improve and light fields in the West Plano area
